  • Product Description
  • Product Introduction

    Materials

    • Small sprocket (drive): 1045, 1023, 20CrMnTi, 20Cr (carburized and quenched, HRC 45–60)
    • Large driven sprocket: 45# steel, Q235 (quenched and tempered, HRC 28–32; or fully quenched, HRC 45–55)

Our company’s manufacturing processes are mainly divided into two types: stamping and forging.

    I. Stamping

    • Blanking: Roll forming/steel plate shearing and blanking
    • Precision punching/blanking of gear teeth: precision die + press, producing tooth profile, center hole, and weight-reduction holes in a single stroke.
    • Leveling: Ensure flatness
    • Deburring and chamfering
    • Heat Treatment: Through-hardening/Quenching and Tempering (large gears), Carburizing and Quenching (small gears)
    • Surface Strengthening: Shot Peening (to Enhance Fatigue Strength), Phosphating/Black Oxide Coating/Paint Baking
    • Inspection: tooth profile, hardness, and concentricity (≤0.05 mm)

II. Forging + Machining (High Precision, High Strength, High-End/Heavy-Load Applications)

    • Cutting: Cutting round steel bars
    • Forging: Heating (1000–1200°C) → Upsetting → Closed-die forging → Punching → Normalizing (stress relief)
    • Rough machining: turning end faces, external cylinders, and internal holes.
    • Gear Tooth Machining: Hobbing/Shaving (Accuracy IT6–7)
    • Finishing: Precision turning, reaming, and keyway milling
    • Heat Treatment: Local Tooth Surface Quenching and Tempering (HRC 45–62)
    • Post-processing: gear grinding, shot peening, and rust prevention
    • Inspection: tooth pitch, runout, hardness,

III. Key Points for Critical Processes

    • Gear tooth accuracy: hobbing > shaping > stamping; stamping can achieve Ra 1.6, while hobbing can achieve Ra 0.8.
    • Heat Treatment: Carburizing and quenching for the small sprocket (hard surface, tough core); normalizing and tempering followed by tooth-surface quenching for the large sprocket.
    • Surface Strengthening: Shot Peening (grain refinement, fatigue resistance); PVD Coating (TiN, service life ×3–5)
    • Quality Control: Accumulated pitch error ≤ 0.03 mm; Hardness HRC 56–62; Concentricity ≤ 0.05 mm

    IV. Process Comparison

    • Stamping: low cost, high efficiency; suitable for small to medium batch production and general-purpose vehicle models.
    • Forging: high strength, high precision; suitable for heavy-duty, high-end, and custom applications.
